The accused was detained after eight youngsters and one adult became sick at the facility in mid-summer.
The senior citizen, from that region, confessed to a total of 17 charges when he stood at the courthouse on Friday.
Nevertheless, he disputed one particular crime he was charged with, which was concerning a young boy.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on 28 November.
'Treat game'
Mary Prior KC, prosecuting, detailed the criminal behavior to the judicial body.
She explained his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer program which he operated.
The man conducted a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor explained, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to consume candy "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings the man had engaged in this activity with the boys "over an extended period", and minors had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.
She explained the man had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had suspicions in recently.
Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepchild had suspicions about the situation, for good reason.
"They decided to investigate in the individual's items."
The legal counsel explained objects including infant oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were located, and his stepchild contacted the police about his worries.
She explained the man continued to engage in the "treat game" with six youngsters that night - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"Law enforcement" had not arrived by that point," she continued.
The police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, had stated that it was investigating Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
The legal representative stated the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so the family member called the authorities again.
She said the man then conducted the "candy game" in a area of five youngsters.
