19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional title, took control to create a decider.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
