The thrilling 11-inning matchup where the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 drew a aggregate 51 million viewers across the US, Canadian, and Japan territories. MLB reported this marks the highest-rated Fall Classic finale after the 1991 edition contest featuring the Twins and Braves.

Last Saturday’s memorable game averaged over 27 million audience members on Fox networks, its Spanish-language channel and their streaming platforms. Per ratings data, it was the second highest-rated broadcast of the previous week.

It also is the top-rated Fall Classic game since the 2017 Game 7 between the Dodgers and Astros, which drew over 29 million. This represents a sixteen percent improvement over the previous finale between the Nationals and Astros, which drew 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game ranked fourth, Game 4 ranked seventh, Game 5 came in eighth, and the third game landed in thirteenth position.

International Viewership Numbers

In the Canadian market, the climactic game averaged over 11 million viewers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports. This was the most-watched English broadcast in Canada since the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

This followed last Friday’s Game 6 – in which World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed a single run in six frames – recorded over 13 million viewers, making it the highest-rated Fall Classic game on a single network in Japan.
